Do’s and Don’ts in Maths
Do:
- rule off at the start of each piece of work
- put the date and Classwork/Homework as appropriate
- give the page number and exercise number or worksheet reference
- write in blue or black ink
- use a SHARP pencil and ruler for diagrams
- show ALL your working clearly – do not rub it out!
- underline answers – unless the question is answered in a single line
- underline after each question and leave a line between questions
- mark your work if you are given the answers
- take pride in your work.
Do NOT:
- put graffiti on or in your exercise book
- tear pages out of your exercise book
- use Tipp-Ex
- use more than one ‘=’ sign on a line in a question – you should work down, not across
